Radio Communications and Scanner information for the Newport News Police Deparment, VA.

The Newport News Police Department is located in downtown Newport News, VA. They operate with Motorola trunked and non-trunked radios.

Newport News is now in the process of switching over to the trunked 800MHz radio system from their 400MHz system. They are still operating on both, but will eventually drop the 400 system. Below is a listing of the 400MHz channels, and their designation:

Channel 1:  453.6500  (Downtown) 
Channel 2:  453.6000  (Uptown)
Channel 3:  453.5500  (East End)
Channel 4:  460.3000  (Info)

Tactical 2: 453.7000

Here is a listing of the new 800MHz frequencies (note: these are the repeated frequencies, not the original transmit frequencies. You will need to enter all of these channels into a trunktracker scanner.)
