In case you haven’t read about it elsewhere, it appears that Michael Crook has been sending out unwarranted DMCA notices to websites that feature the image that I captured last year from his interview on the Fox News show Hannity and Colmes.
Yesterday I was sent an email containing a DMCA takedown message demanding that I remove his image from my website. Apparently a few other sites have as well. Thing is, he doesn’t own the image, the Fox Broadcasting Company does.
I’ve emailed Jason Schultz, the lawyer from the EFF that’s currently suing Crook and I’ve also contacted some folks in the Fox Broadcasting Company. From reading other posts it looks like Fox has basically laughed and said use of the image was allowed.
